Me, Myself, and I: Faustina Nurhandini
Hi, I'm Faustina Nurhandini from X-1 at High School no. 3 in Bandung. You can call me Dini. I'm from Salman Al Farisi Junior High School, and I'm excited to be a high schooler! I know, some say that in High School no. 3, you don't really have the freedom you'd get in other public schools. But, nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to blend in and get comfortable with the busyness here. So, to begin my journey in high school, here's some interesting facts about myself.
Am I an ambitious kid? Well, a little, yeah. Not getting good enough grades can quite literally make me feel awfully depressed. And with 'good enough grades', I mean my definition of good grades, not the school's minimum grade. And my definition of good grades has a pretty tight range. But here in this particular high school, I know the competition's only getting harder. I might not get the 1st place as many times as when I was still in Junior High School. Getting a 100 here might be much harder. I might won't have many opportunities to enter competitions as much as I'd like. And I might have a hard time adjusting to the school. But, I will try my best to fit in, to achieve as high as I possibly can, and to be the student the school needs.
Now, enough about the little ambitious part of myself. What about the fun part of me? Well, there's none. I'm not fun like most people, sadly. But, I do have the so-called favorites. And do keep in mind that when I like something, I'd like it so intensely that I'd know everything about it to the littlest part of it. Like, for example, my favorite singer is Taylor Swift. And I know where she's from, when and where was her birthday, her favorite color, her favorite other artists, the years she wore certain dresses, and I know every part of every one of her songs. Or another example: I love reading fictional novels. I know which authors write the best fantasy, which publicist select the best of the best to release, which characters were based on real life people, and so on. It is a tad crazy, I know, to like something (or someone) so much that you know every little thing about it. But, it has led me to many interesting parts of my life.
Okay, back to my academic life. What's my favorite subject? Well, to keep it simple, it's math. I've been a fond of math since the 4th grade when I understand that math is exciting and intriguing. But other than math, I also love English and Science. Am I good in English? A bit, yeah. Science? Not as much as math or English, sadly. But, I do find science highly enticing. Biology, physics, chemist, I love all three of them. And I do have a dream that's on the lane of science. That's one thing to show my interest in science. What about math? Well, most of the competitions I won were math competitions. And English? I read novels in English. I watch movies and tv shows with English subtitles. And plus, I was in an English club back in my old school. But, I do still have many, many things to learn. My grammar, for example, hasn't been the best. Also, I would love to practice on my pronunciation and accent. That's why, I signed up for SEF3! I hope with it, I can achieve my goals regarding my English skills.
Last but not least, why did I chose SMAN 3 Bandung?
Well, actually, it's not my first choice for high school. My first choice was MAN Insan Cendekia Serpong. It was nominated for the number one high school in all of Indonesia back in 2022. Of course I wanted to be a part of that school. I actually tried. I did the test, and surprisingly, I got accepted! I was so happy. But for some consequential reasons, I had to back off. And with that, I chose SMAN 3 Bandung as my high school. But even so, I'm still extremely honored to be a part of this school. SMAN 3 Bandung is one of the best schools in West Java, and I'm terrific to be a student here.
Well, that's all from me. There are many other interesting facts about me that I hope people would be able to learn directly~
